Holiday Clubs The Easter holiday club started at Chilwell Road back in 1993 where we were all workers in a vast light factory somewhere in space, the week involved us being slowly drawn into a black hole, then at the last minute we discovered Jesus was the light of the world and the only light strong enough to rescue us from our fate! Over the last 16 years we’ve had many adventures, we’ve got fit with Body Builders, we’ve worked in a television studio, we’ve been to the circus, worked on a building site, been secret agents and pirates. We’ve travelled a lot too, we’ve been on safari, to the seaside and to Egypt with Pyramid Rock and we went back into space aboard the Starship Discovery. We’ve even been to the Olympics. One year we even went BANANAS! and all without leaving the building. There is of course a serious side to holiday club and that is to present the Bible and the word of God to young people in a more imaginative way. To enable just one young person to come to know Jesus Christ as their Saviour makes it all more than worthwhile.
