Music

Sunday the 3rd July, our Junior church’s music morning!! As you might know we have many budding musicians here at our church. With the help of Simon, we had a great time.

As always we started with a warm up (including jumping about and shouting at the top of your voices).

With the warm up brought to an end, mainly because of the fatigue of the leaders, we started to sing a few well loved songs. Our favorite was ‘if I were a butterfly’ (which gets us, and the leaders, acting out several animals) although that was almost joint first with ‘Old McDonald.’ By using the various kinds of instruments Simon helped the kids to explore their musical sense and rhythm. It was obvious that we had many talents in the room and we look forward to seeing their future.

We also found that we had many poets and song writers due to Simons activity of making songs to a tune. (in fact we found that the children were better off by themselves than with the adults) many impressive performances were done.

Then we had lots of fun marching, dancing and playing instruments to the old favorite ‘we are marching.’

Lastly we ended with the traditional ‘Alleluia, Praise ye the Lord.’ in the end the boys (although their numbers were less than half of the girls) won due to the help of our male helpers. We’ll get them next time!
