Chilwell Road is the largest of a group of five Methodist churches within radius of a mile or so in Beeston and Chilwell. We are all part of the same Nottingham Trent Valley circuit and we share two ministers between us. Our local (lay) preachers are also deployed by the Circuit Superintendent.
There are historical as well as geographical reasons for continuing as separate churches, and there are ecclesiological as well as economic arguments for joining together. We are starting a process of consultation to find the way forward towards closer unity.
The other four churches (also named from their locations in the community) are Wollaton Road, Clarkes Lane, Rylands and Queens Road.
